I like to think I have this travel-thing down, but it certainly seems every time I go on a new trip I do things differently. But this trip I am doing several things I haven’t done before. And it feels weird.
Firstly, I’m not travelling solo, but with friends. Specifically, this is the first time I’ll ever be travelling with a BOYfriend. Weird. Secondly, I didn’t have a lot of time to plan between just getting back from Africa in January, the heavy workload I’ve had, moving, and yes, even spending time with aforementioned boyfriend. So, I actually booked a TOUR for the second part of my trip. Yep, you read that right. I am joining a Vietnamese-based small group tour. Shudder the thought. But its southeast Asia and its cheap, so in this case, money was cheaper than time (available). Next, and not just because of the tour situation, I am staying in – dunt Dun DUN – hotels rather than my usual hostel/AirBnB method. Totally weird. But when 4 and 5 star places start at $30/night, why not (YNot), right? Now, the next one feels the weirdest. Like I totally waivered on this:
Woah. What the Heck is that?! Yep, that’s right. I’m travelling with luggage. No backpack. Weird, rectangular-shaped luggage.
So if my bus breaks down some rainy night in the Cambodia jungle, a la “Romancing the Stone”, I’m gonna be pissed!
